Fabled is the ninth expansion for Disney Lorcana and represents a major milestone in the game’s history. Released in August 2025, this set focuses on the legendary “glimmers” that have become myths even within the Inklands. It explores the origins of the Great Illuminary and introduces characters depicted in their most powerful, “fabled” forms.
The Debut of Epic & Iconic Rarities
Fabled changed the landscape for collectors by introducing two new rarity tiers beyond Legendary:
- Epic Rarity: A tier between Legendary and Enchanted, featuring a rainbow “fan” symbol and a borderless “Open Air” frame.
- Iconic Rarity: The new “Holy Grail” of Lorcana. Typically limited to just two cards per set, these feature 3D hot-stamped textures and a unique “Lore Star” foil pattern.
The First Rotation
Fabled marked the beginning of the Set Rotation cycle for competitive play. With its release, the first four sets of the game (The First Chapter through Ursula’s Return) rotated out of the Core Constructed format, making Fabled a foundational set for the new competitive era.
