Whispers in the Well is the tenth expansion for Disney Lorcana, released in November 2025. The story takes a “noir” turn as mysterious occurrences begin happening at the base of the Great Well. This set introduces a detective-heavy theme, tasking Illumineers with uncovering clues and solving the mystery of the fading ink.
New Mechanic: Boost
The standout feature of this expansion is the Boost mechanic.
- How it works: Characters with the Boost keyword allow you to spend extra ink when they are played (or during specific windows) to permanently increase their Strength, Willpower, or Lore value. This provides a way to make early-game characters relevant during the late-game “Top Deck” phase.
Theme: Mystery and Detectives
This set features a heavy emphasis on “investigator” glimmers. It marks the full debut of Zootopia and The Great Mouse Detective in the Inklands. The artwork reflects a darker, more atmospheric palette, with many characters appearing in trench coats or holding magnifying glasses as they search for clues.
