Winterspell is the eleventh expansion for Disney Lorcana, released in February 2026. Following the mysteries uncovered in Whispers in the Well, a magical frost has swept across the Inklands, encasing the Great Illuminary in ice. This set focuses on snowy aesthetics, holiday themes, and the introduction of characters who thrive in the cold.
The Return of the Frost: Icy Control
Mechanically, Winterspell leaned heavily into “freezing” mechanics. While “exerting” an opponent’s character has always been a part of the game, this set introduced more ways to prevent characters from “readying” during their next turn. This has made Amethyst and Sapphire control decks particularly formidable in the current meta.
Major Debuts: Pocahontas & Darkwing Duck
Collectors were highly anticipatory of this set due to the debut of Pocahontas, appearing as both a Wanderer and a powerful “Nature Spirit” Floodborn glimmer.
