How Location Cards Work in Disney Lorcana
Locations represent iconic Disney settings like Motunui or The Queen’s Castle. Unlike characters, they don’t quest or challenge, but they provide passive benefits and lore just by staying on the board.

1. Playing a Location
You play a Location during your main phase by paying its ink cost (found in the top left corner). Locations are played horizontally and do not have “ink drying,” meaning their abilities are active immediately.
2. Moving to a Location

You can move your characters to a Location by paying the Move Cost (the symbol on the left side of the card).
- Characters can move to a location the same turn they are played.
- Multiple characters can be at the same location at once.
- Moving doesn’t “exert” the character; they can still quest or challenge after moving.
3. Gaining Lore and Willpower
- Passive Lore: At the start of your turn, you gain lore equal to the number in the Lore Symbol on the right side of the location.
- Willpower: Locations have Willpower (bottom right) but no Strength. They can be challenged by your opponent, but they cannot deal damage back.
