Attack of the Vine! Illumineer’s Trove Review

Released in July 2026, Attack of the Vine! is the thirteenth set in the Disney Lorcana TCG and marks one of the most anticipated thematic shifts in the game’s history. While the previous set, Wilds Unknown, introduced Pixar through the lens of adventure and family, Attack of the Vine! leans into a retro horror vibe. The story centers on a massive, magical overgrowth threatening the Great Illuminary, necessitating the arrival of the top “Scarers” from Monsters, Inc. to handle the threat.

Attack of the Vine! Trove Review

What’s Inside the Box?

Staying true to the premium bundle format, the $49.99 MSRP Trove provides everything needed to organize the new “Monster” card types.

Attack of the Vine! Trove Contents
  • 8 Attack of the Vine! Booster Packs: Each pack contains 12 cards.
  • 1 Overgrowth Storage Box: Full-art box design featuring Mike, Sulley, and the encroaching magical vines.
  • 6 “Monstrous” Card Dividers: Themed dividers organized by ink color with a “toxic” vine aesthetic.
  • 6 Damage Counter Dice: Translucent “Toxic Lime” with purple numbering.
  • 1 Lore Counter: A premium spin-dial with nice art on top.

The Storage Box: The Scare Floor Archive

The Attack of the Vine! box is arguably the most colorful storage unit in the series, utilizing the neon palette of Monstropolis juxtaposed against dark, thorny vines.

  • Visual Design: The artwork is a standout, featuring Sulley and Mike Wazowski navigating a labyrinth of glowing green vines. The box uses a high-contrast gloss finish that makes the “neon” elements of the Monsters’ designs pop against the darker background.
  • Build Quality: This Trove continues the 2025/2026 standard of the previous sets.
  • Capacity: It comfortably fits 500+ cards. The storage space is always a nice thing to have, being able to place any duplicates in a themed set box that can fit even sleeved cards.

The Accessories: Toxic Tones

The choice of colors for the accessories in Set 13 is a direct nod to the iconic character designs of Mike and Sulley.

  • The Dice: The “Toxic Lime” translucent dice are matching the theme of this set perfectly.
  • Dividers: With additional 6 colored dividers to own, they are both functional and pretty to look at.
  • Lore Tracker: The dial wheel is easy to use counting lore points all the way to 20, with a cool design on top.

Pros and Cons

ProsCons
Monsters, Inc. Debut: Finally brings Mike, Sulley, and Boo into the Lorcana ecosystem and let’s not forget about Up as well.Featured Box IP’s: The box art matches monsters inc. but there are some forgotten additions which are not on the cover art such as Up.
Cool Dividers & Dice: The horror themed style for this set matches the accessories in a perfect way.Future Improvements: Ravensburger can add a unique promo card to the trove boxes to make them a bit more special long term.
Pixar Magic: This is a new themed style with even more Pixar magic added to the Lorcana mix.

The Verdict: Is It Worth It?

Buy it if: You have been waiting for the Monsters, Inc. and Up cast to join the game, or if you need a cool storage box to store your Lorcana card extras this one is for you.

Pass it if: You find the classic horror trove a bit darker. You can pick the “Storybook” look of the Fabled set instead.

The Attack of the Vine! Illumineer’s Trove is a high-energy, high-utility product. It perfectly captures the transition of the game into its third year, offering accessories that are just as much “collector’s items” as the cards themselves. You can find all Attack of the Vine! Products and find additional items to add for your collection.
