How the Challenger Keyword Works
Challenger represents a character’s bravery and skill when they are the ones leading the attack.
The Rules of Challenger
- Offensive Only: This character gets a Strength bonus (e.g., Challenger +3) only when they are the one initiating a challenge.
- Defense stays the same: If this character is challenged by an opponent, they do not get the bonus and will deal their printed Strength as damage.
- Example: Captain Hook – Forceful Duelist has 1 Strength. When he challenges, he gets Challenger +2, dealing a total of 3 damage. If he is challenged, he only deals 1 damage back.
