How Songs and Singers Work
Songs are a special type of Action card that can be played for “free” if you have the right characters on the board.

1. Singing a Song

Instead of paying ink, you can exert (turn sideways) a character you control that has a cost equal to or greater than the Song’s ink cost.
- Example: To sing a 3-cost song, you must exert a character that costs at least 3.
- The character must have “dry ink” (be able to quest/exert) to sing.
2. The “Singer” Keyword
Some characters have the Singer keyword (e.g., Singer 5). This allows them to count as a higher-cost character specifically for singing songs.
- A 3-cost character with Singer 5 can sing any song that costs 5 or less.
